FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
We are thrilled that you have chose Haute Bride to visit for your special day! Below are some frequently asked questions by brides that we thought would be helpful for you to know before you visit!
Q. This is my first time trying on gowns. What should I know before coming in to try on wedding dresses at Haute Bride?
In our experience, it is best to start your wedding dress search once you have the wedding date and venue decided - it helps to visualize the dresses that you love in your setting and season to help decide which look works best for your wedding plans!
Our appointments last one hour in length on weekends. If you have never tried on gowns before and would like additional time to find the style that you feel best in, we are happy to make longer appointments available Tuesday-Friday upon request.
Our salon is on the intimate side and we can accommodate up to 5 guests. We know it's hard to limit the number of friends and family members who want to be a part of this special day but remember, your experience will most likely be more enjoyable if you narrow the list down.
For your appointment, we recommend wearing comfortable, nude colored undergarments and a flattering bra. Shoes are not necessary, but it can help to know your preferred heel height!
We do require a credit card to hold your appointment. Your card will not be charged unless the appointment is cancelled within 24 hours or is a no show. The fee is $25.
Q. What is the price range of your gowns?
We have over 10 bridal gown designers, and the prices range between $1,900-$7,000. The average price of our gowns is approximately $2,500-$3,500.
Q. What is the turnaround time for ordering a new bridal gown?
Most of our designers require a 16-20 week lead time and we recommend 2-3 months prior to the wedding to tailor the dress to fit. The ideal time to order your dress is 8-9 months prior to your wedding day. We do have a few designers who offer a shorter lead time, and rush options may be available for select styles and designers.
Q: What sizes are the gowns that you sample at Haute Bride?
Most of the samples in our boutique are a bridal size 12. This is a recommended size from the designer, as it allows different shapes and sizes of brides to try on a range of samples. We do know that it can be hard to envision yourself in a dress that does not fit you- we do have clips and fabric inserts to help with the process. We do stock a handful of gowns in larger and smaller sizes to offer a range of fits.
Q. What is a trunk show?
A trunk show is when a designer sends in their latest collection of bridal gowns. Although we do have many dresses to try on at Haute Bride from each designer, the entire collection is not always available at our boutique. It's a great opportunity to see the entire line, meet the designer (if they are scheduled to come), and also to take advantage of discounts and incentives being offered that weekend!
Q: Can we bring champagne?
We would love to have our brides toast to their perfect dress, but unfortunately we are not able to allow any food or beverages to be consumed in our boutique. Our consultants are happy to recommend a fabulous local bistro where you can raise a glass of bubbly after you 'Say Yes' to your dress!
